What happens to your email address.

Before launch: replace the bracketed entity details below with your registered company name, address and — if you appoint one — your data protection contact, then have this notice reviewed. It is written to be accurate about what the site actually does; it is not legal advice.
Who we are
This site is operated by [registered company name] (“Unassumed”, “we”), [registered address, London, UK]. We are the data controller for the personal data described here. You can reach us at office@hailanderstudio.com.
What we collect, and only what we collect
If you join the waitlist, we collect:
- Your email address — the one you typed into the form.
- Which form you used — the top of the page or the bottom.
- The country your request came from, derived from your IP address by Cloudflare.
- Your browser’s user-agent string and the time of the request.
That is the whole list. There is no analytics script, no advertising pixel, no session recording and no cookie of any kind on this site — which is why you were not asked to accept any. Fonts are served from this domain rather than from Google, so loading the page does not disclose your IP address to a third party.
Why we collect it, and on what basis
We use your email address to tell you when early access opens, to send you the founder field exercises and our build notes, and to reply if you write back. The lawful basis is your consent, given when you submit the form. The country, user-agent and timestamp exist for one reason — to recognise and block automated abuse of the form — and rest on our legitimate interest in keeping the service usable.
Who processes it on our behalf
- Cloudflare, Inc. — hosts the site and runs the code that receives your submission. Cloudflare does not receive a copy of the waitlist.
- Resend (Plus Five Five, Inc.) — delivers the notification to our inbox and the confirmation to you.
Both are US-based, so your data is transferred outside the UK/EEA. Those transfers rely on the [UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses / Data Privacy Framework — confirm which applies under your contract with each provider]. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone else.
How long we keep it
Until you ask us to delete it, or until we close the waitlist and tell you we are doing so — whichever comes first. Abuse-prevention data (country, user-agent, timestamp) is kept only inside the email that recorded the signup and is deleted with it.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or hand it to another provider. You can withdraw consent at any time — the fastest way is to reply “remove” to any email from us, and you are off the list. Email office@hailanderstudio.com for anything else; we answer within one month.
If you think we have handled your data badly, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. We would rather you told us first.
Changes
If this notice changes in a way that affects you, we will email everyone on the list rather than quietly updating the date at the top.
